Built in 1936 by Averell Harriman, the historical Sun Valley Lodge is located in the Sun Valley Resort, just one mile outside of Ketchum, ID. Built in 1936 as future presidential advisor Averell Harriman's vision of "roughing it in luxury," this is the Sun Valley resort area's original lodge. Guests can enjoy an on-site bowling alley, outdoor ice skating rink, champion ice shows, full-service spa, and complimentary transportation to and from the Friedman International/Sun Valley Airport. The outdoor pool is heated year-round and offers après ski cocktails and a luxurious marble locker and shower room, as well as a sauna and massage center.
