Location. The Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach in Queensland, Australia, is located 50 meters from the beach and directly opposite the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. Hotel Features. The present-day Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach hotel was long known as the Grand Mercure Hotel and Oasis Shopping Centre. In 2005, the hotel underwent a $20 million upgrade to all guestrooms and public areas and became the Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach. Guests can perceive these substantial improvements as they enter the hotel lobby, which features soaring white walls accented by spherical art objects hanging from the ceiling. The new conference center incorporates touch-screen controls, high-speed voice and data outlets and built-in projectors and plasma-screen displays. The facilities can accommodate between 10 and 450 delegates. Additionally, Sofitel event planners can assist with creating customized events, including something out of the ordinary, such as arranging an outdoor conference. The hotel also features two pools with waiter service, a spa and a night-lit tennis courts.

Guestrooms. All guestrooms feature flat-screen televisions, marble tile bathrooms and furnishings rendered in muted earth hues. Aromatic L'Occitane bathroom products, soft fluffy bathrobes and extra-large towels make the bathrooms a sanctuary of luxury. All guestrooms provide an ocean or hinterland view that guests can savor on the private balconies each with a small table and chairs. Artwork and photography by local artists hang on the walls. All guestrooms have Internet connections and flat-screen LCD televisions.
